(Solved) I've lost my menus!
« on: January 31, 2025, 02:14:00 pm »
I have a really odd problem in AD20 where the standard menu bar (the one with File, Edit, etc) has disappeared, but only from my schematic editor! Even odder is that when I use a keyboard shortcut to open a menu (e.g. Alt+e for the Edit menu) Altium shows the menu for the PCB editor, even though I'm in the Schematic editor.

The image should illustrate what I mean - I'm in the schematic editor, but Alt+p has open the 'Place' menu, which should only be shown in the PCB editor!

I notice other people have had similar issues, though none of the fixes seem to work for me (deleting preferences etc.).

Any ideas?!

System -> View -> Layouts: Reset

If that doesn't help you might need to try a clean install.
Profile -> Modify profile -> Look and Layout ->  Don't show users' signatures

Thanks so much! While that didn't solve the problem initially, following the reset I was able to right-click on one of the newly-visible menu bars and then re-enable 'Schematic Menu'. Phew!
