Altium: Using a Schematic + Layout as a part
« on: September 10, 2015, 06:19:57 pm »
Here is my situation:

I have a schematic for a Buck converter - which I have laid out and tested. I now have to use this design in multiple other bigger boards and I do not want to lay it out again every time.

I was hoping there was a way that the schematic and the associated layout could be compiled into one component that I could add and use on all my other boards- Cadence allows one to do that, I am not sure how to go about it in Altium. Google didnt help much.

Thanks!

I read about them but they seem less useful than creating a part - since one has to synchronize the design every time you add a schematic and PCB snippet - and was wondering if there was a way to make a component / sheet symbol associated with layout.

But thanks for the tip!
