Keeps adding a Plane layer
« on: July 24, 2022, 10:29:03 am »
I just started to layout a 2 layer board today and went to add a via. Added the first via, no problem. When i added the second via, Altium adds a dielectric and a plane layer to the stack up. I go in to stack up manager and i cant remove it.

Can anyone help????????

Go to place a via, press TAB.  Is it on a custom pad stack mode, perhaps?

Also the usual paranoia check: how long has it been since rebooting Altium?

Found it in the end. It was a footprint i downloaded from Octopart. Deleted it and added the same part from Component Search Engine and all went away.

Thanks for your help though.
