How to export schematic PDF of variant?
« on: March 18, 2020, 09:34:16 pm »
In CircuitStudio it was easy. Generate Outpouts --> Documentation --> schematic Prints --> Configure --> Type documents to " Physical Documents".

How do you print a variant schematic in Altium Designer? I need to have the DNF or red cross markings visible.

While writing this I found it out. With Smart PDF you have to select "Current Project" instead of "Current Document".
Then you get the Structure settings 4 clicks forward. There is an option for "Use physical structure" and you can select the varialt. Only took over an hour to find it :)

When Smart PDF prompts you to create an OutJob... tick it. :P

More specifically, you can create an OutJob file from new, or from project settings like this, and set up whatever outputs you like.  Usually you'll have two output containers to run: one for all the PDFs (schematics, PCB prints, mech drawings..) and one for all the files (Gerbers, ODB++, BOM, IPC, STEP..).

Or one for each kind of file output (e.g.: SCH PDF, SCH file (AutoCAD?), PCB PDF, PCB files, ASSY PDF, ASSY files), but how you do that, and why, is an advanced topic.
