Hi there,
So we recently switched to a different PCB fab and they told us they'd rather get ODB++ than gerbers, if possible. Fine by me, export is just as easy.
Or so I thought.
I made a little PCB and then put six of them on a single Panel, by creating a separate PCB file and using the Place Embedded Board Array feature as I have successfully for a gazillion times. But now, instead of gerbers, I want to export ODB++. However, when I do, CAMtastic fails to open the generated ODB++ and kind of bugs out and the fab also told me they couldn't open the files.
The error message CAMtastic gave me is: "Error loading ODB++ directory. The ODB++ data maybe already present or the ODB++ directory is empty".
Exporting the single board in ODB++ went just fine, and I was able to export the panel as gerbers as usual.
I also noticed that the file structure inside the .zip-file is completely different for a single PCB than for the panel.
I tried exporting an older panel and that yielded the same results.
Has anyone here experienced the problem and knows what's up? Is Altiums ODB++ exporter simply buggy or am I doing something wrong with the panel?
Regards
Laertes
