Ardunio Shield
« on: April 06, 2012, 05:38:30 am »
Hi,
Does anyone have an arduino shield template for Altium they would be willing to send me? I have an Altium license as part of FRC, and I figure, if I can get it free know, why not learn it with something I'm familiar with.

Thanks,
Oliver

I have one but have no idea how to export it and I can't send my entire library.

You could make your own in 5 minutes anyway. Here's a drawing

Note that the new Arduinos have a couple of extra pins but that probably won't affect you.

Hope this is what you wanted. Free to modify as you see fit.
Library's are included to ensure correct 3D display. Unzip in to there own directory and open from there.

Yours Simon M.

updated the shield files with some minor corrections. Included is the  Arduino MEGA R3 shield, and the UNO R3 shield, along with reference drawings (Deleted the original)

I've replaced the Altium R3 Shield file with an updated one. I've also included the MEGA R3 Shield. If anyone knows of an original part number for the board to board connectors I'll update the library.

This is good but the Uno R3 and Mega R3 use a 10 pin header to pick up the SDA and SCL pins which is not on the templates.

Hey guys,

Sorry for resurrecting an old topic. First of all thanks for putting up this library, Simon. I'm using it on a current project and it helped me enormously.

I noticed something weird, however. It would seem like the footprint of the header 36X is inverted compared to its schematic, i.e. connecting pin 22 on the schematic will actually affect pin 23 when the design is transferred to the PCB.
