altium 19 - dragging components within schematic
« on: April 29, 2020, 03:18:35 pm »
i've been using altium 19 recently and there's something bugging me - when i used altium before, I was sure that when dragging objects (components, net labels etc.) within schematics, i could drag the object without it affecting the neighbouring nets, but when i use it in altium 19 i drag the nets along with it. I had a look at the preferences, but I can't find the option that controls this behaviour

does anyone know how I can control this? To be clear, I want to be able to drag components without moving the attached nets - the component just automatically disconnects

Try selecting the component by dragging the mouse selection area from right bottom to left top , vs left top to right bottom.

You have to hold down the Strg-key when clicking the part with the left mouse button (you can release the key once the part is moving).

That will be the "CTRL" key outside of Germany I think (at least that's whats works for me) :)
