Selecting fitted components of the current variant in pcb in AD25

(1/2) > >>

jgorsk:
I'd like to use "Find Similar" functionality in pcb to highlight only components that are fitted
in the current variant. Functionality similar to what's in the 3D view but I'd like that in the 2D
view. I'd like to be able to use it for manually building prototype boards.

Is there a way to achieve that?

thm_w:
You can show them in the Variant manager: https://www.altium.com/documentation/altium-designer/variant-management-dialog#display-of-variant-management-dialog-data

And visually see them in the schematic (click the tab at the bottom of the schematic sheet beside Editor).

But I can't figure out a way to select them like that.

jgorsk:
You can also see the fitted parts in the 3D view but it's not very handy for building prototypes
since not fitted and fitted parts are highlighted by 'find similar' functionality. Not fitted parts
have their 3D models are hidden.

thm_w:
If its for building prototypes have you looked at: https://boastools.com/
There is also an altium equivalent.

tszaboo:
Probably best way to do this is with an exported interactive PDF.
Or with the draftsman, all the not fitted parts are crossed out red on an assembly view.
