Top level harness split (Repeat)
« on: May 15, 2019, 03:29:48 pm »
Hello,

I am using two sensors, each with their own FPGA and I want to connect them using a top layer layout.
Since the sensor is 100% the same, I wanted to route all the differential pairs to the outside using a bus, but since a bus needs specific naming (ending with 1 to x) I can not do that, as differential pairs claim the last part of the name with _N and _P.
Therefore I used a harness.

Now I use the repeat on the sensor and want to split the repeated differential pair harness, but I have no idea how.

You can't use repeat with harnesses or buses, as you've seen it doesn't work.  You'll need to place two separate IMAG sheets and wire them with separate harnesses.  You'll still be able to use the 'Copy Room Format' command as well as the other multi-channel niceties.
