Altium 2D - nets not showing !

I am facing a strange problem in Altium 16.1.7

In the PCB window, the nets are not appearing. I have pressed N>show connection>All, but still the nets are not appearing. Also the pad holes are not shown. But in 3d view I can see everything.

Am I missing something ?

Try bottom left, layer manager, turn on all?

The background color is awfully close to the net color too, though that shouldn't matter within the PCB area.

I solved it a while ago by changing the 2d color profiles and select default>classic>default and it worked. also the pad holes appeared !
