I'm trying to get my flex pcb design to fold in Altium V20, but am not having much luck.

I have done this before only with a rigid-flex design, never with a flex only design.

From memory, to get folding to work you have to 3D lock one section, but Altium will only let you 3D-lock a rigid section.  Since this is a flex only pcb it only has 1 section and it is flex?  :-//

Any ideas?

I've done it, but can't remember how. Worse, I can't get it to work again if I break it now!

However, there are a couple of things to ensure are there to give it a chance. Essentially, you need a region that's going to be flat, even though it's a flex. So break your 1 region into two or more: one flat that will be locked, and t'others are the bendy bits. Next, ensure the flat region has no bends in it. Sounds obvious, but easily overlooked.

As to how you mark the flat region as 3D locked... wish I could rediscover that. :( I am wondering if there was a bug which has since been fixed.
