Title: Just a little "warning" about ViaDesigner
Post by: kaz911 on August 27, 2013, 11:56:19 am
As pr AmpHour advertising I setup a test account at ViaDesigner to try it out.

I did accept to get emails from them - but today I got a surprise - they added me to a "Bloomfire.com" mailing list pointing to ViaDesigner's part of Bloomfire.

I do not think that is right

here is the mail from Bloomfire -

Someone thinks you are important to cultivating team knowledge. So, you've been asked to collaborate in Bloomfire. But you can’t participate unless you log in.

So log in now and start showing everyone that you know your stuff, contribute content, and ask questions to encourage participation...because we all know all of us is smarter than one of us.

You are receiving this email because someone added you to a Bloomfire. Please do not reply to this email. If you need more information or assistance, please CLICK HERE.

If you no longer wish to receive these emails, click on the following link:

The only hint that it had something to do with ViaDesigner was the login link from Bloomfire (https://viadesigner.bloomfire.com)

I would have been okay with ViaDesigner sending me a mail about their presence on Bloomfire. But I'm not happy they sent out invitation FROM Bloomfire - so Bloomfire now has my contact details and I am on THEIR mail list. :wtf:

EDIT: And before anyone comments - I did NOT accept my contact details to be shared with 3rd parties. I never ever do.

Looks like your usual Social Media consultant/intern/manager not knowing what they're doing  :palm: (that's the same people who freelanced in SEO in the 2000's)

Just an update - Reid Wender from ViaDesigner came back and apologised  - it was due to human error.

So stand up action from ViaDesigner - thanks Reid!

Sorry for dragging up this old thread but beware they're at it again :(.

I've just received an email from "Jordan Wood, Bloomfire <communications@bloomfire.com>" subject "The Future of Work: Collaboration and the Trust of Teams", no links to ViaDesigner in the email at all (goto.bloomfire.com links just redirect to info.bloomfire.com).

I would have also opted out (and didn't receive anything in 2013) and since I'm using a unique 22ATZZK1.K21VNQGQ@ style email addresses for everything I sign up to this wasn't "guessed", it was leaked or given to them :(.
