Hey guys - been listening to The Amp Hour for a couple of years now, along with watching EEVblog.
A couple of other podcasts I watch recently started getting funded with Patreon, and they seem to do pretty well. They are:

Subbable is based on a per-month payment system while patreon is based on a per-unit-of-work (episode, etc.) basis. (But for example SMBC is using patreon with "1 month of comics" as unit work.)

I've also been searching every few weeks for a chance to throw money at the Amp Hour!
I've got a $1 per month donation to The Amp Hour going through Paypal, but even with the Patreon fees, bundling all my monthly Patreon donations would cut Paypal's take by 5-10 times!
The number of people like me that actively go out of their way to send money to content creators is amazing to me. I found this thread searching "Amp Hour Patreon" just looking for a better way to send you money! We want to support the content we love (Amp Hour is always #1 on my podcast list) but transaction costs have made it seem almost pointless until Patreon and Subbable showed up.
I'm not affiliated in any way, but I strongly prefer Patreon just because I haven't found anything I really want to support on Subbable. Note that Patreon can be set to a per-month donation instead of per-video to function the same way that Subbable does, it just has another option that many content creators find useful.

They've done it!
Here's the Amp Hour podcast -- just a week or two old, at $26.14 per episode from 20 supporters.

And here's Dave's EEVBlog -- a couple months old at $894.42 per month from 214 supporters.

Note that the official number can be high if credit cards expire or are denied, or (for the Amp Hour that bills by episode) if people cap their monthly donation below 4x the per-episode donation, but for relatively new accounts like this, this is a great start! Oh, and people CAN put in ridiculously high pledges and the cancel before billing at the end of the month -- I don't think that's the case with the numbers now, but if the Amp Hour suddenly jumps to $20,026.14 per episode, a bit of skepticism may be warranted.
On the EEVBlog patreon page, Dave says that a $50 per month donation covers 1/10 his bandwidth costs, so we've got that covered and more (although I have no sense of how much patreon might have cannibalized donations via other platforms, but $894 is a pretty decent buffer).

Going to give this thread a bump. The Amp Hour has 10k listeners. If you like the show, consider kicking some dough into the hat.
One of the things I really appreciate is the sound quality, since they mail a nice microphone for their guests to use. It makes a huge difference in listen-ability. Patreon helps pay for that.
