Title: Rabbit-Proof fence
Post by: kfitch42 on September 27, 2014, 03:30:52 pm
On a recent-ish TheAmpHour episode someone talked about working on sensors for the gates on the Australian Rabbit-Proof Fence. Who was it? Which episode? My memory/google-foo is failing me right now.

It was on Elicia White's embedded podcast, #63 from August 13.

Anybody that watched Bugs Bunny knows that rabbit proof fence is an impossibility.

Not impossible, but you have to dig down deep with the foundations, and make it pretty high. Wodger Wabbit was stymied by his cage, as it was a filled in concrete pond, and though he dug and dug he could not get through the concrete walls and base. He dug till he died.

My cat kills any offender who dare to penetrate the backyard perimeter and is smaller in size than her. She got a few rabbits over the summer. So vegetables grow safely in the backyard.

Obviously you aren't aware of the Rabbit fences in Aus...thousands of miles long. :o

In this thread, we learn who is not up-to-speed with Bugs Bunny.

Bugs could grab himself by the scruff and lift himself over any fence.   ^-^

John Travolta in 'Phenomenon' made a Rabbit-Proof Fence.  Check it out.

Only problem is, he trapped the rabbit inside and it ate all his garden.

Where I grew up it was traditional to eschew the fence, and rather spend a few afternoons sitting out on the back porch with a .22 Win Mag bolt action. Consider that as an alternative?
