Title: 12vdc to 4.5vdc

First time poster here but a long time watcher to the YT channel. I have a light that runs off of 6 AAA batteries but it runs off of 3 and the other 3 are in series. Here is a link to the light- http://www.harborfreight.com/household/lighting/four-head-led-under-cabinet-light-96794.html (http://www.harborfreight.com/household/lighting/four-head-led-under-cabinet-light-96794.html) I would like to wire them into my RV 12v system but I need a way to drop the voltage down to 4.5 or 5v MAX. I scrap electronics for gold recovery and I keep all the parts that Is on a board in case I ever need something or want to tinker. I'm not electronics savvy by no means but I can fix some things that don't need major work. How and what can I use to drop the voltage down? I'm sure the draw is less that 1A. Thanks Wayne

Get one of those cheap stepdown DC/DC modules from eBay.
They are like $3 and have a pot to adjust the output voltage

They are switchmode which is good. You want to avoid the opposite which is a linear regulator because it will get hot.
