| 220v vs 120V SURGE SUPPRESSORS |
| (1/1) |
| hriosm:
I'm looking for decent 220V surge suppresors but they are pricey. Besides the contact form (220v half turn different from standard 120v) is there a big difference between a 220V surge suppressor and 120V? I'd like to use 120V suppressor instead of 220V if modification is easy. Would be easy to modify the 120V design to work with 220V? I´d think there is some protection in going from 120 to 220 but the main part of design would be to suppress higher than 220v peaks? Any ideas? Thanks ! |

A 120V *whatever* protection device will clamp well below 230V so, eh, no... |

Given the information that you have provided , you either don't know what surge protector is or you are refering to powerstrip with power surge protection. Could you give us a bit more information , as to what exactly are you trying to do. |
