| 4mA-20mA current loop sensor |
| (1/1) |
| roogadget:
I want to use a 4mA-20mA industrial sensor with a microcontroller. Do these sensors output 4mA-20mA by default? Or do I need a transmitter to take the input (probably pwm) and convert that to 4-20. ? |
| NivagSwerdna:
which sensor? |

Here is an example http://www.crmagnetics.com/Assets/ProductPDFs/CR5200%20Series.pdf I guess this answers my question.. it outputs 4mA-20mA |
| Zero999:
A simple 250R resistor will give 1V to 5V from the 4mA to 20mA range. |

(0-5V for others) So pick a resistor somewhere in that range https://www.omega.co.uk/techref/das/4-20ma.html has some info or if you want to get fancy... http://www.ti.com/product/rcv420 |
