What recording device do you use when you repair various equipment?
I think having disassembly video may come in handy when you assemble the equipment.
I was thinking about this recently.
Gopro cameras have good stability and tons of mounts and other accessories. The resolution is not very good compared to a phone but they may have some advantages.
Eventually I'll try my Gopro for this.
I don't use video, but do find good still photos invaluable.
For simply documenting what goes where, I use an old Canon IXUS 800IS. It's light and compact, has a very quick and easy to use macro feature, and since the photos are just 6MP they're a handy size - plenty detailed enough for documentation but not a huge waste of storage.
To document specific findings for customers (eg. cracked solder joints, mechanical damage to components) then I go to the other extreme and break out the big guns. Canon 5DSR (50MP) plus a 100mm f/2.8 macro lens, or sometimes the MP-E 65mm, and some carefully positioned fixed lights or dedicated Godox macro flashes.
Yes, photography is one of my expensive hobbies
