A question about the humble resistor (Manufacturing process)
« on: December 20, 2023, 01:51:02 pm »
I spent about 15 minutes looking for videos on making carbon through hole resistors in the 1960s/1970s; pre CAM.  No joy.

 Qabillions made each year.

Bake a carbon surround, cut to length/value, insert two leads. Coat with insulator.  Sort by tolerance.  Apply value stripes.  Pack.

I looked at Periscope Films on Internet Archive, youtube, etc.  Anyone know of a video that shows the production line in detail (not just drawings)?

Regards,

Dewey
