Hi,
This is my first post here, so I'm a new guy, I'm also almost new to electronics.
I'm having an issue, sheer lack of understanding on my part, but I'll also use this post as a kind of introduction of myself post, hope you don't mind, Isn't it still netiquette to intro and not just jump in "i want this", I dunno, It's been a while ... yes ... I can also talk the ears off a dead goat.
I'm not great at electronics but I've been around it all my life (My father did this stuff for a job working in Arabia and such places for Tait, Pie etc, he was also a RadioHam, all the male side of my family are, I turned to computers and phones (back when they were still fun)) I have some experience myself, I like PIC's and I've named my Arduino Rufus. anyway, I digress somewhat,.
I'm learning every day, but I don't like relying something and not understanding the goings on. I'm trying to use an AM2302 Temp and RH sensor, there is a link on a manufacturing that, very kindly, supply an Arduino library and sketch. Works a treat too. I can just use an Arduino nano in the project.
but .. Than I have an Arduino project huh.
I want to make this using a pic, I'm a software guy at heart and i love building stuff with them, and using a bootloader style system and wiring up empty ports on the project ;) everything gets either re-purposed or expanded. And its a better "Completed project" than what would undoubtedly otherwise end up some vero attached to an Arduino nano.
Only thing is, how do I do this? ...
The sensor outputs by capacitance, i figured you pulse it and watch either the charge or discharge rate, (checking for the charge/discharge would be the next step to solve lol)
I looked at some data, (REF: http://embedded-lab.com/blog/?p=4333 (http://embedded-lab.com/blog/?p=4333)) and it talks about setting the pin low, then high, then flipping the pin into read and watching for is a 5 byte data packet from the device.
This small (what appears to be some passive components inside and little else) is capable of modulating a data packet like that???
The sensor is an analogue to the DHT11 according to websites.
I think I've just over complicated things in my head, can anyone help throw some light on this, and sorry for all the Electronic-meta-verbal-diarrhea.

That should be DHT22 not 11.
