Anyone know anything about extech ex520 and ex530

im looking at these two multimeters and they seem to be pretty good but i wnated to see if anybody here has one or heard of this multimeter and know of anything bad about it?

I have been looking at picking up some ex530 meters for my shop... I havnt found anything bad about them online, and extech has a video that shows the internal construction on their website.  

also found it on youtube, it is not as cool as Dave's "lets destroy a fluke" video




Guess I will find out when I order one to take a closer look

If anyone else has first hand experience with these I would be all ears

from what they say on amazon the 520 is great but they only base that on the waterproof thing it has

the 530 had some good and bad things to it. some of the problems dont bother me bc i dont need them but then there was like 1 thing i cant remember that made me wonder.

i guess in the end no multimeter is perfect and i should have an increased chance of it working well since its more expensive at least. what you think?

I have an EX530 and it works great so far.  I have not used it much on electronics though, so I can't say much about the accuracy at that level.  I have mostly used it to test circuits on Trucks, Heavy Equipment, and facility wiring.  I bought it for that kind of work, especially since it had drop protection and was waterproof.  Overall, I am glad I bought it.  It has worked well for what I needed.

well i mean im not looking for dead on accuracy but i mean its got to wokr well is all i want to know.

so any complaints about it?

I was still considering one of these, I was looking at the internal construction pictures... figured I would post them here for anyone else who is curious (taken from extech video).  After seeing the exploding tweezer and the quality control on the ex505 in Dave's video  I am seriously second guessing and leaning heavily towards the fluke 87v

My life is worth more than saving 100 dollars on a meter.

The construction on those leaves a lot to be desired.

If the resistor can possibly touch the input jack, then there is something wrong with the layout.

I'd also question the ruggedness - components standing off that far from the board are going to move a lot when you drop the meter.
