Are there transportable Lion battey-packs for a home solar system?

(1/1)

max5star:
I'm working on this project about renewable energy and I'm tying to figure out if its possible to have a battery pack that can be easily disconnected, moved, and reconnected from one solar panel system to another, if given the right base mounts. or are they too complex/risky to easily remove. I'm prety new to this.  Anyone have an idea?

What are your power requirements?

The Tesla power wall is a little bit large to transport, but I think the original concept came from used Tesla car batteries.

There's no reason you can't move the battery packs around, but you may have to disconnect power or turn off your inverter first, depending on the setup. That is to say, all of what you are suggesting is possible. But your particular requirements, which are unknown, will determine how complicated that system would be.

Your biggest risk with moving li-ion is overheating or puncturing. So as long as you safe guard against that, you should be ok.

These boys do all sorts of "dangerous" builds, and most are still alive :-)  (j/k)  https://secondlifestorage.com
Handled with respect, and in correct conditions, you can do pretty much what you like ...
- It's a very helpful site for this specific field
