Title: atlas peak esr70+ questions

Hello, I work repairing computers although most are software failures, i buy the atlas esr70   to detect some hardware failures of desktop motherboards :-/O.
I bought yesterday the atlas esr70  at 220,000 Colombian pesos  :-  ($ 70 usd) in a store 100km away from my house.
I saw this tester on Amazon or eBay at 130 or 150 usd. (450,000 Colombian pesos)
on the official website of the manufacturer shows that the latest version firmware is 4.9
my tester is in version 4.2, I think it was in the store since 2010 (basing in the manual).
my question is if can i upgrade the firmware by myself ?.
is really important upgrade to the latest version?
