Probably most people here need little to no help with attaching F connectors to a coaxial cable but just in case you want some info on the subject attached is a .pdf that summarizes my learnings. Please feel free to comment with any corrections or suggestions on the content or typos or whatever and I'll try to update the document as needed.
Edit May 16, 2020: Version 1.1 attached (mostly just a few edits to fix typos, etc.)
Also, after reading edpalmer4's post on his preferred tool I found the same model and did some testing. It's like edpalmer42 says, the tool makes a very good installed connector for both RG6 and RG59 connectors. With the ribbed connectors this tool retains their radial geometry rather than turning them into hex shapes as with a hex crimper. I only tried the ribbed but I'm sure the plain connectors also work well. This crimp tool really can make connectors look like they were installed on the cable at a factory. The particular tool I tried was used and somewhat old/fatigued so maybe it's not a fair comparison but I found it required more force than a new compression tool. Also, it looks like this is a somewhat expensive tool when new (over $100?). Net, net on this tool, it probably pays for itself by allowing you to use less expensive radially compressible connectors if you install enough connectors.
Zooming out, I thought about adding this tool to the pdf document but I decided that other than fixing typos and making minor edits I'm inclined to leave the document largely as is and let it live here on EEVblog with the thought that additional/new and improved information can be added in the thread. The document is just a starting point and the thread can be the latest related info.
So thanks to edpalmer42 for being the first contributor/improver of the document's subject matter via the thread.
