Digital potentiometer with 256 steps Up/Down

Guys, I would like to exchange an X9C104 (100K) that has 100 steps for one that has more steps. I found the MAX5455 and MAX5389, can you get another one compatible with the X9C104, but with more steps and up / down?

There are a lot of digital pots with 1024 steps. Both Mouser and Digikey (and others) allow you to search for devices based on resistance, number of steps, communication protocol, package, etc.
