A while back I made some threads here asking about LED brightness and SMD switch supports, this is just an update as to how the badge turned out, and a thank you to everyone who made a reply. Anyways as you can see by the pictures, I decided to go with all blue LEDs, I made an error when designing the circuit which is why 5 blink bright and 5 are barely visible. As it turns out the 555 timer has a substantial voltage drop from Vcc to output when high, which is why the timer is unable to bias LEDs when active. However when low, the output drops all the way to 0V, and the other LEDs see the entirety of the CR2032s 3V across them. I'll fix this unfortunate glitch with a MOSFET in the future. Also regarding the switch, i've included a closeup of my crap soldering skills for criticism. Also as you can see, I removed the support holes to preserve the design on the front and clipped the legs off the actual switch. This was actually my first PCB design ever, and I think it turned out pretty well. This was actually designed for a business pitch event, so I'll tell you if we win Friday night.
