Basic Circut Question
« on: April 21, 2014, 06:29:08 am »
Hey guys, if I use this circuit and  hook a battery charger to the battery while this circuit is connected, will it damage the components, if so how can I change the circuit to prevent this?

What type of battery is it? and what type of charger do you plan to use?

If the battery is a generic NiMh/NiCa/SLA and the charger is a standard trickle or float charger it should all work fine as is.

I wouldn't recommend using a pulse charger on it. Or any charger that does battery rejuvenation/reconditioning.

It is a sealed lead acid, however it has a very high Ah rating (around 90 Ah if I recall correctly), I could potentially charge it at up to 20 Ah, the charger will be any standard 4 stage battery charger that will work. Also if anyone knows a way to calculate how quickly different chargers will charge at battery based on amp hours of the charger that would be awesome, so I can select what charger I want to use. I'm undecided currently until I compare price vs time for different chargers.
