Satellite Modem 10/100 Ethernet Ports
« on: December 13, 2023, 05:40:23 am »
Hi,

I am referring to attached modem
https://www.comtechefdata.com/files/datasheets/ds-DMD20.pdf

It has an optional  terrestrial interface 4 port 10/100Base T Ethernet port.

1. What is the purpose for having 4 ethernet ports? Are they just redundant ports used one at a time.
2. Is this a 4 port ethernet switch? Or are they four independent ethernet ports?

It helps if you look at the actual manual:

See Appendix J.
