| Battery charging protection in mobile phone |
| (1/1) |
| Jane:
When I charge a mobile phone , there is a charging management system on the main board of a mobile phone, that prevents the battery from overcharging . In case the charging management system is damaged, there should be overcharging protection in a battery. But what happens if that overcharging protection in the battery is not working either or there is not such overcharging protection at all? Will the battery blow up /burn ? Or what happens? |
| james_s:
If a lithium ion batter is overcharged, it will usually catch fire. Fortunately it is quite rare for both the charger and the protection circuit in the battery to fail but it does happen occasionally, mobile phones have caught fire. |
