Hello.
I have been offered some work doing repairs for a small but seemingly fairly profitable local business. Changing fuses, fitting bulbs, maybe replacing the occasional blown cap, but mostly mechanical. All easy stuff.
I have very little idea about the business side of it. It's probably not going to be enough work to be worth starting my own company for, and the owner of the business seems happy to take me on as a part time employee. Parts would be paid for by the business, an hourly rate negotiated for my time, but what about money I need for tools? Should I be looking for a high enough wage to cover my equipment, or would it be in with the cost of parts? If it is in with the parts cost, what about wear and tear on the equipment I already own?
