Need help looking for my next project

Hello everyone,

It has been a while since I posted.  I am currently wrapping up my alarm clock project.  Just a few more sync bugs to squash out after a small hiatus from the project.  So now I am starting to look towards my next project to step up my learning even more.  The alarm clock was a great learning experience for me and I learned a lot about PIC micro development in the process.  I must say I think I am going to stick with the 8 bit PIC's for a while.  The new XC8 compiler sports a nice 10% reduction in free mode code size making it much more manageable.

So I am looking for my next project for the 8 bit PIC any suggestions as to what would be a good next step up from the Alarm Clock?
