Can anyone suggest the best books for learning about all semiconductor devices??

'Semiconductor Physics and Devices' by Donald Neamen. I believe it's pretty much the de facto standard for teaching this stuff.

There is no "best" book for learning "all about electronic devices".
Different people learn in different ways. For some a hands-on practical guide is a good way to learn.
Other people prefer a more abstract approach with more details in the underlying theory.

Just looking up articles of different semiconductors on Wikipedia could be a good start.
"Practical Electronics for Inventors" from Paul Scherz is indeed a practical approach but seems well written.
