How to wire mains DPST switch lamp.
« on: June 20, 2013, 12:04:58 am »
Hi i have a DPST switch with a built in lamp, which im going to put into my hakko fx888,

the lamp is between switches like so

-A1---/ ---A2-
 |
(x)
 |
-B1---/ ---B2-

 R9Y  http://www.lightcountry.com/download/rocker/R9(R19).pdf

the original switch only has 2 prongs with phase from the power cable, and the other goes to the fuse board, the switch just breaks the phase inlet

i know i can wire the new one with A1 to A2 to make it work like the original, but how can i get the lamp to work when the switch is in one direction? do i have to break out neutral to B1?

A2 to incoming active, A1 to power transformer active, B1 to incoming/transformer neutral.

The lamp is rated for mains voltage I assume?
