I have a requirement to build a charge system for Li-Pol cells as part of my project. I have built the voltage and current monitoring sections of my project and I am now looking at charging/discharging of the cell 'pack' that I will make. My pack will be 2 cells in parallel, with those in series with a total of 7 cells giving me 25.9(ish) volts at the correct mAh.

I have seen the following type of battery management system 'protection' boards ...

My question is this; Are these boards a charging solution as well as protection, so I just provide the correct voltage and current, or will I still need to supply the correct charging curve, deta V etc ? I think it is the latter.

Thanks for any help.
