Hameg HMO722 vs Rigol DS2072

Hello,

Im looking to buy a general purpose oscilloscope for my hobby needs. I cant spend too much and the models listed in the title were the ones that I was able to select from the market that would fit (more than) my needs in terms of specs and seemed advanced (future prrof for a while) and simple (in terms of usage). What I am looking for is:

- Good quality, as much as I can buy
- Big screen
- 2 channels, dont think I would need 4, but not sure

Other than that, I dont know what I need more that this or what I should look for. I mostly do amplifiers, crossover networks, power supplies and loudspeaker stuff in general and check some basic electronics.

What do you guys think in terms of the models listed in the title? Or, do you have alternative suggestions?

HMO722 is pretty good, but not price. in my opinion, If you want oscilloscope for Hobie, you can got 100Mhz 2 channels and and additional logic analyzer. As example, Rigol DS1102E 100MHz, LA1016 Logic Analyzer 16 channels. I think that should be enough for a hobby.
But HMO722 is real pretty good.
Rigol DS2072 is also good, but i think reasonable to wait until this model does not ride and do not correct errors in it.

I think you made a small mistake there
1) It's the D version that has the Logic Analyzers
2) HMO722 has the 2GS ADC and the DS1102D won't be able to compete
3) The DS1102D is not cheap anyway.
4) DS2072 has all the goodies 14Mpt, 2GS and 50k refresh rate
Well clearly these aren't good for first scopes if you need your first scope anyway it would the the DS1102E or the SDS7102 or the Hantek DSO5062 5102 5202
