Buck converter instability during soft-start
« on: January 20, 2025, 09:06:29 pm »
Hello guys, im having troubles with a buck converter based one the LM5149 IC, my specs are:

Vin = 54V
Vout = 2V - 50V moved with a DAC
Iout = 15A
Fsw = 450kHz
Dual-Phase for 30A max current output

For the project i need an ON-OFF timed function that for example keep the buck on for 1s and then keeps it off for another 1s. Im using the enables pins for this so the buck goes through the soft-start every time it turns on, but sometimes then Vout= 50V the soft start stop at 3/4 of what should be (37V) and stays there until the next ON-OFF. I think it somehow goes out of stability but it doesnt seem to hit the 20A current limit or something else. I tryed to experiment with several compensation network components  but i really dont seem to be able to mitigate the problem. What should i check?
