Can someone tell me what this component is?

So ive got this medical device thats basically a beverage cooler that sends either heated or chilled water through a pump a pad that wraps around your knee and while i had no problem identifying most parts of the system (bridge rec, thermal fuse, cartridge heater, etc)... one part is confusing the hell out of me. It appears to have written on it "V7 AM" and in very faint letters "016A5" and "H  32". below is a photo. I bet its something stupidly obvious but i'm not an EE and my knowledge of such stuff is pretty basic.

It looks like a heater with a spiral of wire inside.

Here's the back of it. It's small. And i just now noticed it says "VICTOR" on the rolled metal edge. The cartridge heater that was in the unit was about 4 inches long and 1 inch wide.

Maybe it's a shunt or a damping resistor. Or two electrodes. Have you tried exploring?

And that VICTOR just got me the answer. It is a Snap Action Thermostat/Current Protector V7AM.
