CE/CB BJT Amplifier(s) + Load Lines!
« on: March 08, 2019, 02:50:32 am »
Hi all,

This diagram from a lab assignment is not making sense to me...any help would be greatly appreciated.

I don't understand what ICMAX*Re is and why it appears on this diagram. Even if it should be on the diagram, why is it only Re and not RDC? Shouldn't VCEmin be from 0V to ~0.3V?

When calculating Re and Rc (Re is maximized with respect to Rc), this equation is used:

I've tried leaving the term I don't understand out (probably a bad idea lol), which causes either Rc or Re to be negative and I have tried calling it ICMAX*RDC, which results in two negative resistances...

Side question:

For a Common base amplifier, would RAC include Rs (the signal resistance)? Thus should be RC||RL + Re||Rs?

Thanks a ton!
