Charging with a BMS

(1/1)

Dhanushka:
Dear all,

I made a battery pack with two 18650 batteries and 2S BMS. Can I charge this pack directly with the BMS without a charging controller safely for user, batteries and other electronics?

The BMS is this one

Thanks

No. The BMS is just a protection circuit. You still need a charger circuit that will control the charge current and limit the charge voltage.

You also need to charge it with charger that supports balance charging, or use cells that are very closely matched. This BMS only monitors overvoltage, undervoltage on both cells. And those can drift in charge with many charge/discharge cycles.
You could try to use balancer circuits, they are on Ali as well, but I don't know how good are these.
