Cheap Kapton Tape Adhesive Question
(1/1)
t1d:
I have some... Never again... Its adhesive fails, at temperature. Does the adhesive hold, at temperature, for the real stuff?
xavier60:
There is supposed to be types that have strong adhesive. I have not been able to track it down.
t1d:
I think the good stuff is made by 3M. I will add that, to my Mouser.com wish list, for my next order. I guess I can use the cheap stuff to tape up boxes, or some such;-)
ArthurDent:
Years ago I worked at a remote weather station in winter that was only accessible by a big snow cat and the temperature never got above freezing for months. There were a lot of experiments that were set up outside where tape had to be used and one of the researchers told me of his theory that the worse the tape adhesive smelled, the better it held. His theory seemed to 'hold' at low temperatures and it might be true for high temperatures as well.
