glinjik:
hi i am thinking of building this for fun and expand my knowledge of smps but i think i found a error I've highlighted the problem cap i think it should be an x2 cap probably 275v 0.47uF but unless im reading this wrong 1kv 0.47n unless its a big disk cap the nearest i have is 1.6k 4n7 but kv seems a bit on the huge side ?

glinjik:
ok think I've sussed it out myself 1kv is the part code 1.4n is the value its the blue type disc caps bit confusing on the diagram live and learn

Vovk_Z:
No, not X2. I think there isn't errror. It's snubber circuit, rated voltage is 1 kV or more, 4700 pF capacity.
You can check youself at some FSDM311 related application notes.

The 104 code is 100nF, not 1.4nF (it stands for 10 followed by 4 zeros pF).

For 4n7 you want a code of 472 (47 and 2 zeros pF).

glinjik:
another question at L1 10uhn is this supposed to be 10uh?
