Hi all, I am looking into creating a project that uses micro usb connector onboard. I want to order my micro-usb from ebay. 1) https://www.ebay.com/itm/20Pcs-Female-Micro-USB-Type-B-5-Pin-SMD-Soldering-Socket-PCB-Jack-Connector-Tool/202355232159?hash=item2f1d4fcd9f:g:5bwAAOSwo8pbNxbx:rk:1:pf:0 2) https://www.ebay.com/itm/10Pcs-Micro-USB-Type-B-Female-2Legs-5Pin-SMT-PCB-Solder-Socket-Connector/181376269980?hash=item2a3ade3e9c:g:nsQAAOSwz7JZgY-t 3) https://www.ebay.com/itm/Lot-20x-Micro-USB-Type-B-Female-5-pin-SMT-Placement-SMT-DIP-Socket-Connector-DIY/153241727116?hash=item23adeb308c:g:cEcAAOSwmBhb2stR:rk:3:pf:0 These "full smd" (under link1) are not so robust, and durable on pcb as those at link 2 and 3 and I cannot find any datasheets for these specific ones, and as they are all really different among many other manufacturers, my question is did anyone ever had a chance to work with ANY of these, and if it did, can you please reccomend what footprint are you using? Please help a noob in trouble, Thank you all! |

It is a major problem with components sold on ebay. Sellers do not offer often dasheets or drawings of their components. You can try to design a universal pattern with larger pads and holes or buy components in advance and measure them with a calliper. Take a look at lcsc.com. They do have a lot of this chinease connectors with photos and datasheets. Perhaps you can find same models like you want to buy on ebay. |

I used 1st one, with big side pads, so they can't break easily. Didn't know for 2nd version, I will order it right now. 3rd, I don't like. |
