Circuit stopped working when transferred to breadboard

I transfered my components to my breadboard.

The circuit stopped working.

This is a detector for a laser alarm.

With low light or no laser beam striking the cadium photo cell, the alarm sounds.

To work on my porch, I will place a 3 inch piece of pvc over the photo cell to prevent ambient light from setting the alarm.






The only change I made is use a 3A spdt switch instead of the board mounted type spdt switch.

The breadboard you are using is not the solderless kind. You usually put the components and jumpers into the other side, then solder the leads that poke through to the copper.

Put the components through the other side, so that the component is on the side of the board that does not have any copper. You then solder the copper side.

I did my first the same way and no one told I was doing it wrong. ??

Do you think my method would affect the working of the circuit?

I would like to know that the circuit works first before doing it the right way.

you could be causing unintended shorts.

redo the circuit with the components on other side.
double check connections between parts
take advantage of the strips on your board to join leads of two components. solder leads to pads not leads to leads.

the copper pads seem a bit oxidized. maybe rub them before soldering with a hard eraser or some abrasive material

if still not working test your transistor and other components that may be heat (from  soldering) sensitive, like the led for example

oh and btw hope you noticed the red wire broke off from the battery holder in your picture.

I will redo it using a new board after I clean it first.

The red wire was not broken.

I tested the circuit by touching the red wire to my batteries.
