Clicking Noise From Oscilliscope
« on: November 19, 2021, 02:35:49 am »
Sorry if this is a really basic question, but why is my oscilloscope producing a fairly loud "clicking noise"? It occurs on startup, and it also happens when I change my voltage division.

I assume this is normal behavior, but I don't know what internal mechanics are causing the scope to produce these clicks.

For reference, I am using the SDS2104X plus.

Nailed it.  :)

flimtim, there are ~20 in the X Plus and most are exercised for self checks at boot.
In Daves teardown you can see them all where AFAICT there are 3 for each channel and another 8 scattered around the mainboard.
