Title: Confused by SDRAM datasheets
Post by: MasterBuilder on April 19, 2017, 05:24:44 pm
Currently I'm looking for suitable SDRAM for my project. I'm confused about what is the size in MBs of the memory devices according to the datasheet.

The Micron part MT48LC16M4A2  datasheet says   4 Meg x 4 x 4 Banks, Is this 4 banks of 4MB for 16 MB total, with a 4 bit interface? The datasheet configuration section is below for this part and two other parts in this family.

Configuration
– 16 Meg x 4 (4 Meg x 4 x 4 banks) 16M4 3
– 8 Meg x 8 (2 Meg x 8 x 4 banks) 8M8
– 4 Meg x 16 (1 Meg x 16 x 4 banks) 4M16

The SDRAM has 64MBits or 8MBytes. It is available with a 4, 8 or 16bits data bus.
