Connector identification help
(1/1)
Hornnumb2:
I need to replace this lcd connector and have no clue what to order to fit. Thanks Michael
JackJones:
Looks like FPC connector, 0.5mm pitch. Make sure you get the contact type correct, they can have contacts on top/bottom or both sides.
Hornnumb2:
Would this be right? https://www.mouser.com/ProductDetail/Omron-Electronics/XF3M-4015-1B-R100?qs=sGAEpiMZZMs7i6cT6ogu492AjVUyed8jZUqMQ5aIYVCcLL%2fPfbohTg%3d%3d

Would a dual contact work even if the cable is only one sided?
JackJones:
I'm not an expert on FPC connectors, but I'd think with dual contact ones they would be commoned together, so it doesn't really matter what kind of cable you use.

I'm also not sure how the compatibility is between different types, obviously the pitch is going to be the same, but the two hold-down tabs at the side might not align properly. Hopefully someone who knows better will give some more specific advice.
mariush:
Pull out the flat cable and measure the pitch (the distance between the centers of two contacts) and the number of contacts ... then go at a distributor of components and buy the connector with the right parameters.

Ex.  https://www.digikey.com/products/en/connectors-interconnects/ffc-fpc-flat-flexible-connectors/399

Looks like a 40 pin , maybe 0.5mm , 2.3 cm wide (0.9"?)

There's some text on the retention clip, maybe that would help filter results and find the series of connectors.
