Need Help Identifying This Part
« on: October 26, 2012, 03:47:26 am »
We are working on a TCON for LED panels and are stumped as to what this particular part does or the best way to test it to determine what it does.  We have been told that cutting it open with a laser can in some instances result in a die stamp inside that better identifies the part.  So a couple of questions:

1.  Know what this is?
2.  How to test it to discover what it does to find the proper replacement?
3.  Laser hair removal worth the cost?

We are also looking for ongoing help from an engineer on this project - not sure if this is the best place to ask for ongoing help!

Thanks!

Can you get a close up that's more in focus?  Have you tried making a rough schematic of what it's connected to?

Where did you get this board? As in, what product did it come out of? If you have a part number for the board, could you please provide it. Also, what do you mean by "Laser hair removal worth the cost?" ?

It's a tcon for a led panel, possibly a LCD LED TV, it would be good if you provided the brand and model.

This is coming from the following LG panel - a 27" computer display  - LM270WQ1-SLA1.  The PCB part number is 6870c-0340a_rev 0.2 also made by LG.

The question is whether it would be worth it to cut open the chip to see if there is a die inside that may give a better understanding of what it does.
