If I get a high inductance choke and saturate it externally with a magnet, then feed AC trough it, wouldn't the output be somewhat half-wave rectified since in one wave the core would be saturated and pass the current trough the winding, but on the other wave the current would be much lower because of the inductance of the choke.

Wouldn't the other wave de-saturate it and screw the next cycle up so in the end it would be a weird asymmetric choke?
Wouldn't the magnetic fields opposing the magnet create huge currents, wasting a lot of power?ñ
(yes I suck at magnetics :))

Look up 'magnetic amplifiers', basically the same thing but passing a DC current through an auxiliary winding. It's difficult to get a high inductance AC choke without a closed laminated core, so it wouldn't be susceptible enough to external permanent magnetic fields.
