| PerranOak:
I bought a crystal just to experiment with and see how it will work. However, the datasheet had no example circuits and, even though I tried a few from the Tinterweb, I can get it to oscillate. Does anyone have a simple circuit that will work please? Cheers. |

Have you just tried Googling 2MHz crystal oscillator schematic? The image search comes up with lots of hits. https://www.google.com/search?q=2MHz+crystal+oscillator+schematic&safe=active&client=firefox-b&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwiVlb-f6_riAhVjoVwKHa_WBZAQ_AUIECgB&biw=1280&bih=900 |

Cheers. I did try three but none worked. I wondered if there was a "tried and tested" one. I'll try that one. |

A crystal behaves like a tuned circuit. If your oscillator has enough gain but doesn't oscillate, you may have a bad crystal. Try a different one. If the Q is too low it won't have enough loop gain to oscillate. |
