Lens Focus Motor (Ultrasonic motor)
« on: September 18, 2024, 07:57:51 pm »
Dear Electronics Community,

I am new to the field of piezo technology and have developed an interest in piezo actuators. I came across a lens focus motor from Nikon and was considering running it without its original board. However, I do not have information on the required resonant frequency or the applied voltage. Based on my research on similar transducers, it appears that the typical voltage is around 20 Vpp, with a frequency range of 30 kHz to 50 kHz using a sine wave.

I would appreciate any advice on what IC would be suitable for driving this type of motor. In the meantime, I came across the LT3572 chip from Analog Devices and was wondering if it could be a good option.
